TRAVEL TO EDGEWOOD ARTS
Edgewood Arts is located at 3415 8th St NE in DC’s Brookland neighborhood. Click here for Google Maps directions.
METRO
We are located on Eight Street NE (AKA Dance Place) one block south of the Brookland/CUA Metro (Red Line). Exit on the Catholic University side, make a U turn at the top of the steps, and take the Arts Walk to Edgewood. It is ok to stop and visit the art studios or the Historic Brookland Farmer’s Market – just don’t let that make you late for class!
BUS
Brookland Metro is on many Metrobus lines. Check wmata.com for details on which lines are closest for you. Take the bus to Brookland, exit the station on Monroe St, and walk over the bridge. Edgewood is at the foot of the Brookland Bridge.
CAPITAL BIKE SHARE
We are two blocks south of the Capital Bike Share location at Brookland Metro.
CAR
Edgewood has street parking on Monroe, 8th, and Lawrence Sts NE. There is also pay to park garage on 7th St. You can map a route to us here.
USING THE ARTS CENTER
We set up mats a few minutes before class and pack up the mats at the end of class. Everyone is expected to pitch in unless injury or disability prevents helping. It’s fun.
Edgewood provides limited changing room space for men and women. Lockers are not available, so bring something in which to hold your clothes and valuables during class.
TRAVELLING FROM OUT OF TOWN
If you plan to join us for a special event or tournament, DC Judo is easy to reach by air, rail, or bus. You can ride down from Baltimore, Philadelphia, or New York and catch a nap as a bonus!
AIR
Take the Yellow Line train from National Airport to Gallery Place, then transfer to the Red Line to Brookland.
RAIL/INTERURBAN BUS
Amtrak, MARC, and VRE all serve Union Station where Greyhound, Peter Pan, and other buses terminate. From Union Station, you can ride the Metro Red Line to Brookland.
